Overview
Assets are the Media of your Events, be they Video, Documents, Images, or Links to Documents on external sites.
Invintus supports two Asset Relationships, namely Global Assets and Event Assets.
- Global Assets are available to be assigned to Events, VAST (Ad) campaigns, or Embedded application prefrences (Player and Channel Listings).
- Event Assets are media associated to one and only one Event.
Creating Assets
Assets can be created by either Upload, Linking to URLs, or are the result of recording an Event's Live Stream
Upload
You can upload an Asset for use in a specific Event or to the Global Media Library
Note:
If you are uploading video to an Event that has an existing video asset, the uploaded video will be transcoded to conform with the first video asset's metadata added to an event. We refer to this as the First-in rule.
Linking
Linked Assets, which are available only on Events, are a way to associate a URL to an external resource (Document, image, webpages, etc) to an Event.
To create a Linked Asset on an Event, follow these steps:
- Click "Upload Asset" from an Event's Asset tab.
- Click "Create Linked Asset" on the bottom of the Modal that pops up
- Enter a Label and a Link URL into their respective text fields.
Note:
After creating a Linked Asset, our system attempts to assess whether or not the URL is reachable. If it isn't (say it's a broken link or a link that only exists behind a firewal on your LAN) our system will append to the Asset's title (private or inaccessible link).
Asset Properties
- Title: The name of the Asset
- Asset ID: Our system's auto-generated unique identifier for the Asset
- Status: The status of the asset
- Size: The raw size of the asset
- Time to Live: For unpublished video Assets only, this refers to the time in which the video media will be removed from our system automatically.
- Date Created: The Date & Time at which it was up
How to Edit an Asset
You can only edit an asset's Title
Both Event and General assets have an Edit button. Clicking this will trigger a modal window which will show you all the asset's properties (status, Time to Live, etc.) and will have an input at the top letting you alter the Asset's title.
How to Delete an Asset
Note:
Once you delete an asset it cannot be undeleted or recovered from our system!
To delete either Event or General assets you click the Delete button next to the asset you'd like to delete.
