Event Automation and Event Duration

Each Event and every Client Package tier supports Auomating an Event's Start and Stop time. When either Auto Start or Auto Stop are toggled on, the Live Stream will begin automatically so long as the Encoder assigned to the Event is feeding a Video Stream to our system.

Best practices

Pre-roll and Starting Paused

To ensure your Event goes Live at the intended time, we recommend at least a 5 minute Pre-roll (Going live prior to the Event's start). This helps prevent issues where our System may be scaling resources to meet Live Streaming demands.

On average, our system takes 3 to 5 minutes to start a Live Stream on your Event. In conjunction with the Pre-roll as defined below, we also provide a "Go to Break After Start" feature which will start your stream in a Paused state, allowing you to switch over to Live immediately when you need it to without waiting for our system to scale.
